Normal Shoulder Exam

Normal Shoulder Exam

Duration 2m

Special thanks to @yogawithtaz for being my practice patient! Here are the basic components of my normal shoulder exam. Always start with the range of motion in 3 planes of motion. Then there are specialized exam maneuvers that try to elicit pathology in the labrum (fibrocartilagenous ring around the shoulder socket), the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres minor, subscapularis (four components of the rotator cuff), acromioclavicular joint, and biceps tendon. It's important to examine both shoulders, so that the injured shoulder can be compared to the uninjured shoulder. Subscribe to Dr Chef Boy MD on of.com/chefboymd
